Unemployment Information and Eligibility

All apprentices are entitled to unemployment compensation for weeks that they attend school in which they are not paid by their employers.

To file an unemployment claim you must contact the NYS Department of Labor during the week you are in school. This claim will remain active for one year.

You must then call in to the automated telservice line on the following Sunday evening of any week during your claim for which you attended school and were not compensated by your employer.
